WHY SHOULD I USE PARROT PALM FRUIT EXTRACT?
It is derived from the natural food source of the African Grey Parrot, the Fruit of the West African Palm Nut. Parrot Palm Fruit Extract comes in an unrefined state having only been cold pressed and filtered to remove solids left over from the pressing process.
Lets do the science shall we?
Palm Fruit Extract contains a balance of polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and saturated fatty acids. In addition Parrot palm Fruit Extract also contain essential substances such as linoleic acid (an essential fatty acid which the body cannot manufacture) and tocopherols and tocotrienols, which act as natural anti-oxidants against damaging free-radicals.

In some human trials it has been found to lower harmful LDL-cholesterol.
A Palm Fruit Extract enriched diet has also been shown a reduced tendency to blood clots.
Parrot Palm Fruit Extract is a major source of carotenoids which inhibit some types of cancer.
It is also a major source of beta-carotene (15 to 300 times more than carrots and green vegetables, which is a precursor to Vitamin A. Among the functions of vitamin A are improved night vision), healthy mucous membranes and skin, bone growth and reproduction. Vitamin A when derived from natural and synthetic sources can be highly toxic when taken in overdose quantities. Parrot Palm Fruit Extract provides the alpha and beta carotenes the body needs to manufacture its own vitamin A, so never leads to an overdose.

Parrot Palm Fruit Extract is also 100% Cholesterol Free.

Easily digested Parrot Palm Fruit Extract is absorbed and utilized for support of healthy growth, contributing towards energy reserves, thermal insulation, organ protection, tissue membrane structure and cell metabolism.
Parrot Palm Fruit Extract is also a valuable source of plant material derived Vitamin E. The principle role of Vitamin E appears to be as an anti-oxidant. It prevents the oxidisation of unsaturated fatty acids, phospholipids and Vitamin A. It may also help cell membrane stability and be essential for neurological function.

Lets sum that up in plain English. It is 100% natural. Improves feather colour, especially the reds, orange and yellows. Increases skin condition and feather tone. Improves general health and heart condition and can also lead to improved breeding results.

HOW TO USE    A quarter to half tea-spoon daily is plenty. Parrot Palm Fruit Extract will spread straight from the jar, so spread on a piece of toast for a pet bird, mixed into egg food instead of water, or spread onto fruit and vegetables. Warm it up a few degrees and the solid Fruit Extract melts to it can be drizzled onto what ever your birds favourite snack may be. The only place where it is inappropriate is to add it to the seed, most of the Fruit Extract will be wasted as the bird eats the inside of the seed not the shell with the Fruit Extract on it. Parrot Palm Fruit Extract can also be used in conjunction with Frozen Palm Nuts.
